Our Mission

Our mission quite simply is to operate as a supportive and affordable resource center for nonprofits to help them provide services addressing the unmet needs of communities in Eastern Riverside County by working in collaboration with other agencies and organizations. Our goal is to promote:

  • Comprehensive Capacity Building ("process of developing and strengthening the skills, instincts, abilities, processes and resources that organizations and communities need to survive, adapt, and thrive in the fast-changing world.") and
  • Best Practices (a method or technique that has been generally accepted as superior to any alternatives because it produces results that are superior to those achieved by other means or because it has become a standard way of doing things)

Opportunities

Nonprofits, agencies, and funders need better data to identify what services are required and to effectively evaluate the impact of the programs and the services they provide. Focus groups convened by the Regional Access Project Foundation at the end of 2015 identified that nonprofits need assistance in developing the organizational skills and best practices that will help them when providing services and programs and when seeking funding. Funders and agencies have indicated a willingness to work together to seek solutions that increase the effectiveness and sustainability of local nonprofits.

Several proposed initiatives for achieving these outcomes include:

  1. Provide service offerings for nonprofits over the next three to five years to help them develop the capacity they will need to effectively fulfill the unmet needs of the people they serve
  2. Provide a thorough capacity assessment for every organization receiving our services to establish a baseline for measuring the effect and impact of the services we provide and to identify undiscovered needs or opportunities
  3. To create a leadership development pipeline to increase the professional abilities of existing nonprofit leaders and to attract and retain young leaders so they can choose careers in local organizations
  4. Encourage Philanthropic Team Building to bring organizations, businesses, and the community together so they get to know each other better and work on shared goals.
  5. Have a strong foundation of great material, excellent trainers, and professional consultants to ensure the organizations, clients, and communities we serve get the very best care and service available
